 Gideon G. Lewis, M.D., FAAFP is
a board certified Family Practice Physician with over 30 years of
private practice experience. He has been voted by Orlando Magazine to
be "one of the Best Doctors" in Orlando for several consecutive years.
He graduated from medical school at Loma Linda University and completed his residency at Florida Hospital.
Dr. Lewis is past Chairman of the Family Practice Department at Florida Hospital.
He sees adolescent to geriatric patients and truly builds a relationship with them.
He
has been married for over 35 years and has 4 grown children and 2
grandsons. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf,
reading and spiritual growth. He has also participated in medical
missionary work.
 Gideon J. Lewis, D.P.M., FACFAS is Board Certified in Reconstructive Rearfoot / Ankle Surgery and Board Certified in Foot Surgery. He completed his Podiatric Surgical Residency at Florida Hospital with extensive training in Advanced Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
He
received his Doctorate degree at the California College of Podiatric
Medicine, training at the University of California at San Francisco
School of Medicine teaching hospitals.
Dr. Lewis earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida (UCF).
He has a special interest in sports related injuries, especially running injuries. His patient list includes current and former athletes from the NBA, MLB, NFL, PGA, X-Games, NCAA, as well as Olympic athletes. Dr. Lewis is the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board for Milesplit.com (the nation's largest online running network). He also was the Official Event Physician for Dwight Howard's 2011 Celebrity All-Star Basketball Game.
Dr. Lewis is a faculty member with UCF College of Medicine. In 2010, Dr. Lewis was selected as the first recipient for the "Rising Star Award" presented by the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. The faculty and administration selected Dr. Lewis from a pool of over ten thousand alumni for this award, because of his outstanding work and achievements within UCF and the community.
Dr. Lewis remains very active in the Central Florida community. He currently serves as the Director for the UCF Pre-Medical Surgical Internship Program. He is also an attending physician for Florida Hospital's Foot and Ankle Surgery Residency program, training surgical residents.
Dr. Lewis has a passion for getting involved with organizations whose effort and focus are on children and youth. In 2010, he was asked to serve on the Board of Directors for the Kerosene Lamp Foundation, Adonal Foyle's (Orlando Magic) non-profit organization. Dr. Lewis also serves on Dwight Howard's D12 Foundation as a Board of Advisory member.
As a former NCAA Division 1A athlete, Gideon enjoys staying active by participating in his favorite outdoor sports: tennis, running, and barefoot water-skiing. His other interests include traveling,
cooking, and spending time with family.
